Mary Brock Howard

Mary Catherine Layne Brock Howard of Burton, SC went to be with Jesus on October 21, 2020 from Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Sunday October 25th, 2020 from 12-2:00 and services to follow at 2:00PM at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home in Pineville, KY. She will be laid to rest at the Green Hills Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY.

Mary was born in Doss, TN to Homer and Rowena Layne on March 6th, 1933 at home, however when her Dad went into town several months later to document her birth he told them March 27th, 1933. She was happily married to her Best Friend, Lige Brock until he passed away. And then married her true love, Jakie Howard until he passed away. She was a Surgical Prep Technician at the Corbin Memorial Hospital and most importantly a devoted Wife, Mother, and Nannie. She was a Christian and a Salvation Army Soldier, as well as a member of the Salvation Army Church of Beaufort. She loved to witness for Jesus and tell of his Love and many blessings she had seen in her life through the years. She was a Sunday School teacher, member of The Home League, drove the church van, and rang the bell at Christmas time for many years of her life. She helped bring many people to know the Lord. She loved her children and grandchildren and was proud of them all.

Brothers, Elijah “Buddy” and wife, Easter Layne; Brother, Dewey Layne; & Brother, William “Butch” Layne

Daughter, Mary Joy and living husband, Joe Letendre (10 children); Daughter, Rena Gail and husband, James Jones (3 children), & Special Son, James Letendre

And other family and beloved friends.
