Christine Browning

Christine Browning age 87 entered into her heavenly home on September 21, 2025. Christine was born on May 2, 1938 in Virginia to the late John Shelburne and Nell Johnson Shelburne. She was a believer in the Pentecostal faith. She loved her family; she was humble, loving and kind. She loved crafting, sewing, and gardening and was always on the go.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Donald Browning, two sons, Steve Browning, and Timothy Browning, brothers and sisters, Shelby Neal, Roy Collett, Buddy Collett, and Marie Best. 

Christine is survived by her son Danny Browning, grandchildren Cherie Coleman, Melissa Presley, Gerald Bo Browning, Jennifer Lewis, Jason Carson and Madison Browning, daughter-in-law Wendy Browning, nieces Becky Lee and Marlene Smith and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. 

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 2 PM at Brooks-Durham funeral home with Rev. Eric Gordon; burial will follow in the Browning cemetery at Laurel Hill, East Pineville. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2 PM at the Brooks-Durham funeral home. The Brooks-Durham funeral home is honored to serve the Browning family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
