Debra Kay Smith

Debra Kay Smith, of Arjay, Kentucky, passed away at her home on September 5, 2026, with her beloved pet Millie by her side. She was born on May 16, 1958, in Cary, Kentucky.

Debbie will be remembered as a devoted homemaker who cared deeply for her family and the home she made for them. Her life was centered on those she loved, and her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Ray Smith; her father, Fred Foster Daniels; her mother, Aline Robertson Daniels; her brothers, Fred Daniels, Billy Daniels, and Robert Daniels; and her sisters, Sue Ann Gibson and Patty Baker.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ray Gambrel, and fiancé, Clay Wombles, her son, Danny Ray Smith, and his wife, Emily; and her beloved grandchildren, Ethan Gambrel, Gavin Gambrel, Aubrey Smith, and Roman Smith. Marcus Gambrel, Rachaad Cloud and John Ross Cox, they were like sons to her. She is also survived by her brothers, Ricky Daniels and Otis Daniels, and sisters, Terry Hall and Mary Shoumake. Special caretaker Amanda Jones 

Visitation will be held on September 9, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Fuson; Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memorial Garden cemetery with Ethan Gambrel, Clay Wombles, Marcus Gambrel, John Ross Cox, Rachaad Cloud, Robert Daniels and Danny Smith serving us Pallbearers.
