Edna Fuson

Edna Fuson, age 79, of Pineville, KY, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on May 12, 2025 . She was born on September 3, 1945 in Whitley County, KY.

A bold and faithful woman, Edna lived a life deeply rooted in her love for the Lord and her family.

She was a longtime and devoted member of Beech Bottom Baptist Church, where she could always be counted on to lift up prayer requests each and every Sunday. Prior to that, she was a member of Centennial Baptist Church, where she remained a part of their church family and still loved them dearly. Edna also had a beautiful voice that brought joy to all who heard her sing in church—her songs of faith touched hearts and lifted spirits. Her faith was unwavering, and her commitment to God was evident in the way she lived. We take comfort in knowing she is now with her Savior.

Edna wore many hats in her lifetime: business owner, friend, sister, wife, mother, and mamaw. No matter the role, she filled it with love, strength, and a clear sense of purpose. She was the heart of her family, always making sure everyone knew they were loved—and that they were walking the right (or wrong) path.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents Ben Dewey Jones and Delphia Mahan Jones; her first husband, John Leonard (Jay) Fuson; her husband of 47 years Junior S. Fuson; siblings Julious Jones and Mary Jones Carter; and great grandchild Emma Grace Fuson.

Left to mourn her passing are her children Ronnie (Trina) Fuson, Connie (Mike) Warren, and Teddy (Tina) Fuson; her grandchildren Christopher Fuson, Randy Fuson, Brittany (Kevin) Baker, and Hunter Fuson; and her great-grandchildren Reagan Fuson, Rylee Fuson, Bently Fuson, Eli Baker, Cooper Baker, Lincoln Baker, Caisyn Fuson, Kisyn Fuson, Claire June Baker, and Christopher Jay (CJ) Fuson; two brothers, Dewey (Nadine) Jones and Bennie (Kim) Jones; three sisters Critty (Elmer) Hall, Bernette (Terry) Brock, and Bessie Jones, and a host of other family members and friends.

The family would like to offer a special, heartfelt thank you and appreciation to Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice — especially her nurses Megan and Shauna, and nurse’s aid Susan, who provided excellent care and compassion.

The family will receive friends and family on: Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 5 PM for family and 6-9PM for friends at Brooks-Durham funeral home. 

Funeral services will be at Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church in Whitley County, KY with viewing beginning at 10:00 AM and the funeral to follow at 12:00 PM. Music will be provided by: Lee Mahan and Barry Barton. Burial will follow the service at: Fox Cemetery on HWY 92. Officiating pastors will be: Waylon Hunter, Mike Brooks, and Bobby Fuson. Pallbearers will be Dewey Jones, Bennie Jones, Christopher Fuson, Randy Fuson, Kevin Baker, Hunter Fuson, and Bently Fuson. Honorary pall bearers: Eli Baker, Cooper Baker, Lincoln Baker, Caisyn Fuson, Kisyn Fuson, and Christoper Jay (CJ) Fuson.

Edna was a very giving person. She gave without question or hesitation. Because of this, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the charity or church of your choice.

Her strength, love, and faith will continue to guide those she leaves behind. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
