Finley Goodin, a devoted member of the community and a cherished figure at Ebenezer Baptist Church, passed away on October 3, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 22, 1946, in Ingram, Kentucky, Finley was known for his unwavering spirit and dedication to service.
Finley served honorably as a sergeant in the United States Army, exemplifying leadership and commitment during his time of service. Upon returning home, he embraced his passion for craftsmanship, becoming a skilled carpenter known for his meticulous work and attention to detail. He dedicated over 50 years to leading the music ministry as a song leader at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Finley was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Roxie Goodin, as well as a close-knit family of siblings, Leroy Goodin, J.S. Goodin, Irene Goodin, Fred Goodin, Billy Don Goodin, Bobby Ray Goodin, and Kinley Goodin. His beloved nieces, Kim Goodin and Donna Cady.
He is remembered fondly by a host of loving nieces and nephews, who carry forward the legacy of kindness and generosity that he exemplified throughout his life. Additionally, he is survived by special friends Brian and Sheila Key and Dr. Milton Brooks.
A visitation for Finley Goodin will be held on October 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at Ebenezer Baptist Church, starting at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paul Wayne Goodin and Rev. Keith Bays; burial will follow in the Fox cemetery with Tory Goodin, Bryson Goodin, Clay Goodin, Doug Raines, Donnie Brock and Justin Brock serving as Pallbearers.
