Hence Harris Jr

Hence Harris Jr., age 79 of Wallsend departed this life on August 3, 2023 at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born on March 27, 1944, in Wallsend to the late Hence and Reva Harris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Smith Harris, brothers Danny Harris, Jimmy Harris, and Johnny Harris.

Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Ann Leach and husband Daniel and Norma Brock and husband Randall; grandchildren, Lela Messer and husband Aaron and Travis Brock and wife Sheri; great-grandchildren, Dalton Messer, Aubrey Messer, Conor Brock, and Erin Brock; brothers Roscoe Harris and David Harris; sisters Joyce Gambrel, Mary Nunn, and Sue Smith. A host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be on Sunday August 6, 2023, at 2PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wallsend Cemetery with Daniel Leach, Travis Brock, Aaron Messer, Matthew Byrd, Jonathan Rowland, Roscoe Harris, David Harris and Dalton Messer serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Sunday August 6, 2023, after 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Harris family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
