Bessie Helton

Bessie Helton of Pathfork, KY went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 15, 1933 in Beverly, KY. She was married to her husband of over 50 years Foley Helton. Bessie attended Mathel Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a lifelong member and served as the sunday school superintendent. She was a homemaker and Avon and Tupperware representative. She also was an adult/ childcare sitter.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Edna Mae Helton of Straight Creek, KY, her husband Foley Helton, three sons Mark Helton, Earl Gene and Michael Lawson; grandson Jonathan Helton and ten siblings.

Bessie is survived by her children Sharon (Larry) Taylor of Corbin, KY, Bobbie Helton of Berea, KY, Jim (Vickie) Lawson of Pathfork, KY, Patrick Helton of Pathfork, KY and Mary Helton of Pathfrok, KY. She is also survived by three brothers Leonzie (Bea) Helton of Mollow, OH, Ernest Helton of Ewing, VA and Paul (Kay) Helton of Kingsport, TN. Bessie has nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two Godchildren. A host of nieces and nephews; special dear friends, Nadine Johnson and Billy Joe and Louise Wilder.

Funeral services will be 8PM on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Hardy Franks, Rev. Ray Franks and James Roark; burial will be in the Alva Memorial Garden Cemetery, Alva, KY at 10AM, Friday July 19, 2019.

The family will receive friends after 5PM on Thursday, July 18, 2019 until the funeral hour at 8PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Helton family.
