Fred Helton

Fred Helton age 97 of Kettle Island, KY passed away Wednesday May 20, 2015 at his home. He was born March 2, 1918 to the late Jim Helton and Edna Mae Helton Engle and step-father Ed Engle. He was a WWII veteran in the United States Army; he was with the 106th Infantry division and was awarded the Bronze Star and other meritorious service awards.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by daughter Dianna Martinelli, son Ernest Brock, sisters Kathleen Jordan, Marie Riley, Evelyn Johnson and Hallie Brock; brothers Gilbert Helton, Robert Helton, Rema Helton and Elmer Helton

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Oma Helton of Kettle Island; daughter Karen Sinkhorn (Anthony) of Kettle Island; son Ralph (Debbie) Helton of Tazewell, TN; daughter Bernice (Dennis) Finkbiner, daughter Wanda (Jeff) Nolf and daughter Patricia (Richard) Gingher; special grandkids Ernie Brock, Mark Brock, Aaron Sinkhorn, Brittany Sinkhorn, Zack Brock, Shawn and Kiley Sinkhorn and Luke Sinkhorn; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters Arlen (Barbara) Helton of San Francisco, CA, Leonize (Bea) Helton of Marrow, OH, Bessie Helton of Pathfork, KY, Paul (Kay) Helton of Kingsport, TN, Earnest (Loretta) Helton of Ewing, VA; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
