Irene Goodin

Irene Asher Goodin, age 79 of Pineville, KY went to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born on February 24, 1945, in Pineville, KY to the late Eldon and Helen Brock Asher. Irene loved the Lord and wrote several songs for the Lord and sang them in church. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would crochet and make Afghans for people. Irene retired from the Bell County school system after 36 years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Goodin and sister Lois Helen Carnes Alford.

Survivors include her loving children, daughter Tammy Brock and husband Donnie, son Dwayne Goodin and wife Sabrina; grandchildren, Justin Brock and wife Taylor, Kristen Brock, Kaylee Goodin (Jonathan Saylor) Connor Goodin, Brooke Corntassel, Allen Michael Goodin and Gary (Kendra) Hurst; great-grandchildren, Kyson Blake Amis, Dawson Trent Brock, Carl Corntassel, Jake Corntassel and Liam Hurst; brothers, Eldon Asher Jr., and Tommy Asher; sisters, Jeannie Stewart, Midge Asher and Norma Saylor. A host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives, many friends and special caretakers. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 4PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Bays; burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery, Middlesboro, KY with Connor Goodin, Jonathan Saylor, Justin Brock, Gary Hurst, Josh Landrum, Tory Goodin and E.B Asher serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends after 2PM on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home until the funeral hour at 4PM. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Goodin family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
