Obituary

Larry Miller, beloved brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully April 2nd 2026 at the age of 66. Born in Pineville, Ky. He lived a life defined by courage, service, and unwavering dedication to both his family and his country.

Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force special forces as a ROMAD and a member of the tactical air control party (TACP). In these demanding roles, he worked alongside ground forces, coordinating close air support, and ensuring mission success under the most challenging conditions. His professionalism, skill, and commitment earned the respect of fellow service members and the gratitude of a nation.

Beyond his military service, Larry was known for his generous heart along with his love for the outdoors. You could always find him sitting by a fire, fishing on a river bank, or cherishing time with family and friends, enjoying his retirement life to the fullest.

Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Miller, and sisters Patty May and Charlotte Sanders; the best dog he could ask for, "Bud".

He is survived by his sisters Joyce Dozier, Leona Reece, and Erma Williams. Special nieces and nephews, Chanda Sams, Katrina (Lawrence) Smith, Eric (Lisa) Williams, Dan (Rachel) Sanders, Justin Sanders, Makenzie (Luke) Kelley, Paceleigh Sams, Caroline Sams, Malley Smith, Madelyn Smith, Ty Williams, Tori Williams, Adam (Ashley) Reece, Corey Reece; special friend Scottie Brown; lifelong friends Jesse Thompson, Tom Spurlock and Jim Merritt; a host of other family members and friends. 

Larry's legacy of honor, loyalty, and love will live in the hearts of all who knew him.

Per his request he was cremated by Brooks-Durham funeral home.
