Lowell Jones Jr.

Lowell Jones Jr., a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 57 on October 13, 2025, at his home in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Born on June 23, 1968, in Pineville, Kentucky, Lowell’s life was a testament to his love for the great outdoors and the cherished moments he spent with family and friends.

An avid outdoorsman, Lowell found joy in nature, Lowell's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Marie Shelton Jones, and their three children: Samantha, Shannon, and Simon Jones. He was a loving son to his parents, Lowell and Joyce Marlene Jones, and a treasured brother to his siblings: Mark (Laura) Jones, Danny (April) Jones, Steven Jones, Joseph (Julie) Jones, Angela Jones, and Alicia Jones. Lowell's bond with his family extended to his brothers-in-law, Wayne (Glenda) Shelton, Grant Shelton, and Buddy (Lynda) Shelton, as well as his special nephews Isaac Jones and Jordan Jones and his niece, McKenzie Wilson. The love he shared with these family members is a testament to the strong connections he fostered throughout his life.

Lowell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Edna Smith, his paternal grandparents, Silas and Elsie Jones, and his mother-in-law, Mary Shelton. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, located at 205 West Kentucky Avenue in Pineville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 2 PM at Brooks-Durham funeral home with his nephew Rev. Jordan Jones, his brother Rev.  Joseph Jones and Rev. Drew Munafo; Music will be provided by Shayla Jones; burial will follow in the Smith cemetery at straight Creek with Simon, Mark, Danny, Steven, Joseph, Jordan, Isaac and William serving us pallbearers. 

As we remember Lowell Jones Jr., let us honor the joy he brought into our lives and the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter to those who were fortunate enough to know him.
