Benny Raby Sr

Benny Lee Raby Sr., 67 of Jenson, went home to be with the lord peacefully on October 28, 2014 at his home. He was born in Harlan on March 15, 1947, a son of the late John and Mary Raby. He was veteran of the U.S Army serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, retiring from General Motors. He believed in the Pentecostal faith. He was a hardworking, caring, giving, loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents and his adopted dad and mom (father-in-law and mother-in-law) Boyd and Lucy Gambrel; He was preceded in death by Brothers Jessie Raby, Huston White, Lincoln White and brother-in-law Doris Gambrel; sister Lily Abrams and nephew Adam Gambrel and niece Susie Butler.

Left to mourn his passing is his beloved wife of 46 years Evelyn Raby of Jenson, his two children whom he loved dearly Benny (Robin) Raby of Harrogate, TN and Shawna Carroll of Jenson; six grandchildren he cherished Eric (Caterina) Gracyn and Emilyn Raby and Tyler and Logan Carroll. Brothers Robert Raby of Indiana and John Raby of Tennessee, all of his adopted sisters and brothers in the Gambrel Family and a host of nieces and nephews family and friends.
