Ricky Bain, born on January 23, 1959, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on May 23, 2026, at Central Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. Ricky was a man of simplicity and humility who truly cherished the rhythms of daily life on the farm and found joy in his routine walks. Marked by generosity and kindness, he made the noble decision to give the gift of life through organ donation, leaving a lasting legacy beyond his years.
Ricky proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Emmie Mills Bain; brothers Edward Gillis “E.G.” Warren, Wayne Bain, and Marshall Bain; and sisters Phyllis Widener and her husband Doyle, Penny Payne and her husband Ed, and Pamela Hensley and her husband Eugene.
He is survived by several devoted family members who carry forward his memory with love. These include his brothers Preston Bain of Covington, Kentucky; Timmy Bain and his wife Ana of Gray, Kentucky; and Dennis Bain and the late Verda Bain of Corbin, Kentucky; sisters Barbara Landers and her husband Danny of Florence, Kentucky; Debbie Price and the late Bobby Price of Corbin, Kentucky; and Tammy Bain of Gray, Kentucky. Additionally, Ricky’s sisters-in-law, Rose Bain of Independence, Kentucky, and Sue Bain of Pineville, Kentucky, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends, continue to honor his life and spirit.
Ricky Bain’s life was a testament to quiet strength, generosity, and devotion to those around him. His memory will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
A memorial service to celebrate Ricky’s life will be held on May 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, located at 205 West Kentucky Avenue, Pineville, Kentucky 40977. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bain family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.
