Sherry Lynn Houston

Sherry Lynn Houston, 77, passed away on September 7, 2026, at Middlesboro Nursing Home. She was born October 2, 1948, in Insull, Kentucky, to the late Earl and Roberta Houston. She attended Insull School and Blackmont School.

Sherry loved life and was always ready for an adventure. She loved fishing, playing games, and going to the lake. She loved being on the go and was always the first one ready when someone mentioned going somewhere.

Sherry was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Matthel Church and Kentenia Full Gospel Church. She especially loved worshipping and playing her tambourine.

She is survived by her brother, Edwin Houston; sister n Law Linda Houston, nieces and nephews, Butch Wilder, Etta (Joe) Wright, Edwina (Raymond) Eldridge, Kenneth (Brandi) Houston, Melanie (Ian) Sutherland, Jeff Houston, and Wesley Houston, along with a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Roberta Houston; brother, Jerry Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Claude Wilder; and sisters-in-law, Wanda Houston and Alene Houston.

Sherry will be remembered for her fun-loving, adventurous spirit, her faith, and her love for her family. She leaves behind many wonderful memories that will be cherished forever.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 11, 2026 at Brooks-Durham funeral home at 12 noon with Rev. Greg Abraham; Music will be provided by Edwina Eldridge and Ed Houston. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memorial Garden Cemetery, Middlesboro, Kentucky. 

The family will receive friends after 10:30 AM until the funeral hour at 12 noon on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Brooks-Durham funeral home.
