Doug Smith

October 12, 1946 — June 5, 2011

Douglas Smith 64, of Straight Creek Community went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2011 he passed away at the Pineville Community Hospital, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born at Kettle Island , KY. A son of the late Clarence and Edna Warren Smith, Grandson of Nathan and Martha Hall Smith, Thomas and

Phoebe Hall Warren. In addition to his parents and grandparents.

He was proceeded in death by his brother David Smith and nephew Donald Ray Smith Jr. He was a retired Coal Miner.

Survivors include his ex-wife Linda Smith and their children; Janet and Kenny Pace of Middlesboro, Sandra and John Lingar of Newtown, Klan Douglas Smith of Newtown, Jerry Wayne and Shonny Smith of Straight Creek. His daughter Kayla Smith and her mother Kathy Elliott and special children Kristy Elliott and Cody Smith of Newtown, His sisters; Geraldine Stewart of Poplar Grove, Illinois, Joyce Marlene and Lowell Jones, Brenda Kay Smith of Straight Creek, His former brother-in-law Conda Cox of Middlesboro. His brothers; Clarence Smith Jr. of Straight Creek, Randall Smith of Newtown, Bobby and Patty Smith of Madison W. V.A., Donald and Brenda Smith of Uneeda W. V.A. his former sister-in-law Rita Smith of Laurel Hill. Grandchildren Jamie Hatfield and Josh Smith of Newtown, Matthew Smith of Ferndale , Brandon Pace of Middlesboro, His great grandchildren Shawn Hatfield, Hunter Smith and Nathan Miracle. Many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Jackson, Rev. Bill Engle Jr. and Rev. Carl Jordan. Burial will be in the Smith Family Cemetery at Straight Creek with Mark Jones, Joe Jones, Lowell Jones Jr ,Charles Smith, Larry Gambrel and Duke Blair. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM Tuesday June 7, 2011 at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, is honored to be serving the Smith Family.
