William Smith

William Arnold Smith, a veteran of Vietnam and longtime resident of Pineville Ky passed away on January 11, 2023 in his home surrounded by family. William, as he was known to many in the area, was born May 16, 1948 in Harlan Ky to Theo Hensley Smith and George Washington Smith and attended Hall High School before being drafted in the U.S. Army. William obtained the rank of Sergeant during his time in the Army and seen action during Vietnam where he had many amazing stories of his time there. Williams exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam led to Parkinson’s disease and ultimately led to his death. William. amongst being an exemplary, selfless and honest man, was even more of a loving and model husband and father. William dealt with many obstacles throughout his life but he never wavered! He devoted his life to ensuring everyone around him was taken care of, and never placed himself before his family. He enjoyed spending time with his

grandchildren watching his Wildcats play.

William is preceded in death by his sons: John Sinkhorn and Jason Smith, siblings: George Smith Jr and Silvia Smith.

William is survived in death by his wife: Trudy Ann Smith, by his children: Cindy & Freddie Middleton, Eddreama & Zack Riddle, Alvin & Kayla Smith and Beth Maggard, siblings: Rod Smith, Jim Smith, Jerry Smith, Percilla Hall, Sherly Davis, grandchildren: Kristen & Matt Mays, Zachariah, Zander and Elona Riddle, Piper and Millie Smith.
