Rufus Taylor

Rufus Taylor was born on February 29, 1948 to Noah Taylor and Clara Francis Johnson Taylor. He passed away on September 18, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Clifford Taylor, Walt Taylor and Oscar Taylor; sister Barbara Sue Mays; son-in-law Chris Lewis and great-grandson, Andrew Smith.

His family left to mourn his loss, his wife of 50 years, Joan Taylor; children Frances (Bruce) Robbins, Julie (Arie Jr.) Jones, Laura Wilder (Glenn Miller), Rufus Jay (Rebecca) Taylor, Joanne Lewis and Andrew (Natasha) Taylor; brother Joe (Thelma) Taylor; sister Naomi Gambrel; half bother, Mike Bolton; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and one on the way to make 19. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Per Mr. Taylors request he was cremated by Brooks-Durham Funeral Home, memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Taylor family and ask that you keep them in your prayers.

Services will be at 3PM at Golden Cemetery on November 21, 2021
